Charfen Institute CEO Alex Charfen Wins Austin Under 40 Award for Real Estate Leadership

Alex Charfen, CEO of Charfen Institute and author of the CDPE and CIAS Designations, was awarded the Austin Under 40 Award for Austin leadership and community service in the Real Estate Category.

AUSTIN, TEXAS, March 2, 2011 – The award, which is presented each year to Austin, Texas, leaders under the age of 40, was given to the Charfen for his leadership within the national real estate industry and his dedication to the greater Austin community.

“It’s an honor to receive this award, and to be included among such prominent professionals in one of the most vibrant cities in America,” Charfen said. “Since moving to Austin in 2009, our company has added more than 65 new jobs and experienced 1,900 percent revenue growth. You just can’t argue with these results, and I feel that Austin – its business environment and people – has had a huge impact on our success.”

The award was presented to Charfen at the Au40 Awards Gala on February 26, 2011. Founded in 1997 by the Young Men’s Business League and the Young Women’s Alliance, the Austin Under 40 Awards event recognizes young men and women in Austin who excel in their professional fields and make considerable contributions to their communities.

“Two years ago, my wife Cadey and I relocated our company headquarters to Austin for its vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and strong community environment,” Charfen said. “There’s no place in the country that I’d rather be right now, and to be recognized by our community in this way simply inspires us to achieve more and give back in greater ways.”

Charfen’s award adds to the many industry recognitions the Charfen Institute has won since its inception. These awards include: Austin Business Journal’s “2010 Best Places to Work in Central Texas”; and video production awards including four Telly Awards (Online Video: Information, Real Estate, Use of Animation, and Graphics), four Omni Awards (Education, Graphics, Government, and Internet Delivery), and a 2010 Aegis Award (Training/Education).
